Our organically farmed gardens are the inspiration for EDGE’s ever-changing seasonal menus. Etched in glass, sculpted in metal, carved in stone, and printed on our labels and literature, the Vine of Life reminds us that Stone Edge Farm is always a work in progress. This symbol underscores our reverence for nature and our unwavering commitment to soil, water, air, and energy conservation. The Stone Edge Farm logo, the Vine of Life, depicts a human figure in a circle of grapevines. A designer by inclination and training, Leslie developed EDGE’s unique design and aesthetic vision, and oversaw the building’s transformation into the welcoming, contemporary dining space it is today. The couple found their place just off Sonoma Plaza in a historic Victorian. In 2004, they launched Stone Edge Farm Estate Vineyards and Winery with grapes from their organically farmed estate, and in 2012, acquired a second estate vineyard and orchard property on Moon Mountain called Silver Cloud.Īs their culinary gardens grew, Leslie noted the need for a hospitality space that could bring together that seasonal bounty with Stone Edge Farm wines. The McQuowns named their home for a century-old stone border around a bygone sheep pasture, and expanded the estate to its present-day 16 acres, with nearly five acres of vineyard as the centerpiece.

The couple moved to Sonoma in the mid-1990s after falling in love with a historic property along Carriger Creek, just three miles from Sonoma Plaza. Mac, a serial entrepreneur, cofounded the Chalone Wine Group and Carmenet Winery, and for decades spent much of his time in northern California wine country.
